Asylum and studies related travel
Hi,
Does anybody know how is traveling seen by the INS if you are pending
asylum?
I filed for asylum almost a year ago, and I am still waiting for the
interview. I am also doing my masters in business here in Florida. In
order to graduate by this December (well, in order to graduate at
all!) I have to do this summer semester in Germany. I know I can ask
for Advanced Parole.
Now, my question is:
-how risky is to go out of the country on AP (I refer to risk of not
being able to come back)
-how does INS see this study-related travel and my asylum
-does anybody know how willing are they to give the AP for such a
travel?
If I do not go for this summer semester to Germany, I probably will
not be able to graduate in my major which is international management
in business.
Did anybody have any experiences with similar issues?

I would not leave the US until the asylum case is dealt with. Are you going
to the country you fear persecution?

Re: Asylum and studies related travel
no, I am going to germany, and I filed asylum against croatia. i am
not going there. but there are people that are waiting for asylum for
ten years, does that mean that they are caged up in the united states
for ten years??? i have already been waiting for freedom for ten years
myself, that is why i came to the US, to find that freedom. am I
banned from freedom for another decade? why can't i have just normal
life like everybody else?
thanks for all your help.

Have you been granted Asylum yet or are you just waiting to be interviewed?
If you are waiting to be interviewed do not leave the US however if you have
already been granted Asylum just apply for a RTD document and you are
allowed to travel anywhere accept for the country that you fear persecution.
