Arrest record
I applied for change of status from H1b with marriage base.
I received a letter from local center for interview, but it stated
that I need to have arrest records.
Does this mean, I need to get an police record from my country?
or just from the US is ok?
If I request my police record from my country, it will take 2-3
month.. but my interview is in 2 weeks. I need to request the
interview to postpone.
I am afraid that they will deny of application if I postpone...
please advice.
Thanks.

Re: Arrest record
Most offices seem to be a little forgiving if you want to postpone for genuine reasons. It may be worth explaining to them that there is a delay due to you applying for a police report. They might go ahead with the interview and ask you to give them the report as soon as you receive it.
Alternatively they may well postpone it until you have all documents. Either way be straight with them and it shouldn't affect your chances of receiving AOS

That is the standard boilerplate request.
You seem to imply that you have been arrested in both the UK and the US.
Did you disclose those arrests on the I-485? The form specically asks. If not, make sure you have that CHANGED at the interview.
What were the arrests for? I hope no drugs were involved.
If you do not bring in the records of the arrests, you will be given an I-72 form to get them -- you will then have 84 days to get them.
Many people have mentioned that if you have past arrests, you should have retained an attorney at the beginning. We would have turned heaven and earth [or had you do it] a long time ago.
It is now quite late to think about getting the records of arrests NOW. You knew you had those arrests.

Re: Arrest record
Everyone, thank you very much for reply.
I never get arrested before for anything in the US and in my country.
I knew police record (even though you don't have any criminal record)
needs to be submitted if I apply from consulate. But I didn't know I
need police record for I130/I485 (applying from inside the US).
If I need to get the 'police record', the letter should say for
"Police record" right? or is "arrest records" the same as 'police
record'??
Thank you.
