Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd let you guys know - we got my approval letter from the Newark INS in
the mail today - it was dated September 18, 2001.
March 2001 -- Applied for permanent residency based on marriage July 2001 --
Fingerprinted and interviewed, placed on hold pending CIA clearance September 2001 --
Approval letter received.
Letter stated that I could go get my I-551 stamp on any wednesday morning. Also
stated that I could expect the real card in the mail within six months.
I'd like to thank everyone on this newsgroup who has been so patient with my
questions, and kept me from falling apart. I learned more about this process from you
guys than anywhere else, and I mainly just lurked. You have no idea how much good you
are doing.

Sam,
What was the date on your approval letter? Did you make the 2-year hump? I just had my interview yesterday and pending CIA clearance.

If you read Sam's post you will see that he only married in March and adjusted status the same year. He hasn't even had a first anniversary yet so he is a conditional resident.
He further states the date on his approval letter of September 18, 2001.
Think you are still a little too excited by your success

I just requested to postpone my interview because it fell on January, only two months
before our second anniversary, which is in March 9. Is it possible that they will
still reschedule the new interview before March 9? If so, will I be able to make some
time by doing my fingerprinting shortly before the interview, so the time it will
take it to clear may help push it after March 9?
Since the interview came so close to our second anniversary, it just doesn't make
sense to be bothered with removing conditions for two more years.
Any advice will be appreciated.
