Apply for advaced parole same time as AOS?

Apply for advaced parole same time as AOS?
I'm wondering if we should apply for advanced parole at the same time as applying for
AOS. We don't have any plans to leave the US right now, just want the option to do so
if something should come up.
Can I wait and file the I-131 if and when we decide to travel outside the US? How
long does it take to get this form approved?
Since AOS will likely take over a year, and advanced parole is only good for 1 year,
there is a potential gap in when we could travel. So perhaps we just file the I-131
in say 6 months. What do you think?

Which INS office are you using? Every office has a different policy on issuing this.
Some won't issue it until you have tickets in hand. Alvena

Charlotte is pretty good about issuing AP when it's not an emergency situation. I'd
say if you're thinking of traveling in the next 6 months or if you've got an elderly
or ill relative at home, you might want to consider doing it now. It is allowed.
While we did this almost 1 1/2 years ago, the reason that Reinhard's mother is
old(ish) and the sole caretaker for his retarded brother and may need his help in an
emergency was more than enough.
