Default AOS Update

Hi Folks,

Some may remember Michelle and I some may not, some may not want to.

However I have sort of been keeping the folks here up to date with our AOS process.
We have our AOS interview in about a couple of weeks in Memphis. Seems like the
Memphis office is good and caught up as this is a little less than 10 months since we
filed for it. I remember that at one point, when we filed I think, there was talk of
them taking up to three years. Phew! I'm glad that things improved since then.

Of course since I wasn't expecting to hear from them I hadn't bothered to have my
medical - *big* mistake, since I now have about two weeks to have one and complete my
vaccination regime - oh well.

A piece of advice for anyone undergoing AOS, if you haven't completed your
vaccinations yet, do so now and make sure you have your records, it's easier than
trying to sort them out at the last minute. A piece of advice to the INS, give people
more time. Your paper work for Memphis states that applicants shouldn't get a medical
until notified by the district office because of the long waiting time - I guess that
the medical is only valid for a year. I didn't, nor did I get notified until now...,
but now I have two weeks to get one, ARGH!

Anyway, it seems somehow like it's been a long haul, but by the time the AOS
interview has happened we'll have been in process (I-130 and then AOS) just about 18
months, which I suppose isn't so very bad.

Hope everyone else is so fortunate.

Regards.

Two weeks should be OK. The vaccinations can be done same-day and even if you have a
positive skin test, it doesn't take that long for the X-ray.

Andy.

BTW, I've given up eating Pies, they gave me indigestion.

Cool, thanks. I'd hoped that would be the case, certainly some of the documentation
at the INS website seems to suggest you can have the vaccinations the same day. I had
a chest X-ray a little over a year ago for suspected bronchitis, and was clear,
though I suspect it's not recent enough for these purposes.

Glad to see the Pies gone and the Highlanders here in their place and stead. A much nice, gentler, kinder couple for sure.

Congrats on the speediness of your processing.
