AOS surprise?

Hi;
We just got a letter...a Form G-56, saying Zhudan (a K-2 child) has an appointment on
December 3. This is well before we expected it, if it's for the AOS interview (about
6 months after her K-2 granted and arrived in the states).
So I'm asking, since they didn't tell us the purpose of the G-56, is this the
appointment letter that usually precedes the interview?
