Default AOS from J-1

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd document how my process is going... I just started this with my USC wife in Florida (I'm a UKC).

We used this website to help us... hopefully it works out to be complete, but I can speak to that as the process goes on!

I submitted a cover letter and personal checks with I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765 (as well as the supplemental forms, such as the affadavit of support). The last one was to open up options to take work other than that described by my J-1 visa before the AOS procedure completes.

May 15 2012 - Sent packets by USPS
May 17 2012 - USPS tracking reports delivery
May 22 2012 - 4 Text messages and 4 emails with receipt numbers arrive (9pm EDT). This feature required filing the extra little form G-1145.

Update from today's visit to Tampa USCIS office went well, airport style security took about 5 minutes to get through, then the fingerprints and photo had no line so was over in 10 minutes!

July 13 2012 - Received Notice of Action (NOA) to attend my AOS interview in Tampa on August 14th. (Interview day will be day 91 since mailing the application)

I haven't even got the EAD or travel waiver yet - and, assuming all goes well at the interview, I should be done a couple of months ahead of what I thought.
