Anyone know what Apostille de l'Aja is?
Hi All,
We are having a bit of difficulties obtaining our Italian police certificates. It is taking them forever. They told us it would be a lot quicker if we did not need the Apostille de l'Aja. For what I understand, you need the writing "Apostille de l'Aja" because that means that your certificate has been given international value. It is a way to make it legal in foreign countries (taking part in the Aja Convention).
Anyone know if I really need this? Do other countries have this stamp/postille?
Thanks,

Who is "they?" You need to know what is acceptable to the Department of State.
The Apostille procedure is a PIA.
Normally, the advice is to look at the Department of State "Reciprocity Tables." They are currently down. I have no idea when they will be back up.

I don't know what the Department of State wants...that is the problem
I didn't see any mention of it in the Reciprocity Table.
So, I might just skip the postille

It's normal for the application from abroad (for the police certificate) to take a while.
