Default Anyone have experince with the LA Office Appointments

My husband has an appointment at the Los Angeles office at 9am for his work permit. We have only been there once (we thought we can file for his change of status in person..wrong), we went early in the morning at 5:00am. There was a long line and seemed to be very disorganized. Finally after a few hrs it got some what organized. My question if anyone knows, should my husband go there super early and wait for the guards to walk around seeing what everyones there for? When we got there, he didn't see (or I didn't notice) a line for appointments if they have such a line. If he shows up an hr before, do you think he can find someone to show his appointment letter to, so he knows where to go? Thanks.

Hi:

There are now TWO lines. The really long one to get into Room 1001 [information] are now a thing of the past. You either have an InfoPass appointment or they take you to the kiosk inside to make an InfoPass appointment and come back.

Now the EAD appointments are NOT for room 1001 -- they are for the sixth floor [don't recall the room number -- its one of those things where I can SEE the place but don't know the number]. For this you go to the line to the right of the main entrance. There may or may not be a long line to get in the building. Experience varies.

One thing about the EAD appointments, the CIS doesn't care if you are late. Hell, you can at a later day [sometimes people don't get the notices in the mail until after the appointment].

I'd get in line at 8:30. If the line is short or non-existent -- you'll be on time. If the line is long and it takes an hour -- no harm, no foul.

Also, remember, you are going into the line to the RIGHT of the main door.
