Yes my card is valid for 10yrs. Expires 2/4/18 I thought it was odd too that they backdated it as I had perviously asked about that an I had been informed that they dont but I guess that is wrong.

Yes Renee,
July 31st we will be celebrating our 4yr anniversary. At the time of our interview we were just shy 2yrs as it was May 3rd of 06 but I was stuck in FBI Namecheck until now.

1. You got married on July 31, 2004.
2. You had your AOS interview on May 3, 2006 (not quite 2 years of marriage).
3. You received your green card recently which says you are a resident since February 2006 (3 months before you even attended your AOS interview?)
I am wondering if you got a 10-year card by mistake. If they are backdating the card to a time before you were married 2 whole years, you should have received a 2-year card, in my opinion.
I don't know...backdating it is strange enough, but to backdate it to a date before you even attended the interview? Doesn't make sense.

OK, let me get this straight.
1. Yes we got married on July 31, 2004.
2. Yes we had your AOS interview on May 3, 2006 (not quite 2 years of marriage).
3. Yes I received my greencard today which says I am resident since February 2006 (3 months before you even attended my AOS interview?) It is the same date as my reciept date of my filing.
I was informed personally(telephone call) by my AO that I would recieve a greencard with 10yrs cause we have been married over 2yrs of time of approval. I am not sure why they are backdating the card to a time before we were married 2 whole years.
Hope this clarifys my position.
Thank You
Kat

Personally, I think they either made a MISTAKE in the data entry OR the "8" didn't print clearly and appears to be a "6". Or perhaps a smudge was in the production machinery and obscured the upper right loop of the "8."
The facts indicate that you became an LPR last week but have a defective card. Your status is just fine, but it starts from February 2008.
If you really want to know, an InfoPass might be in order.
Please note that the Government is not bound by their clerical errors.

If I were you, I'd make an Infopass appointment and double check, because if it's only supposed to be a 2-year card (i.e., if Feb 2006 is correct), you'll need to remove conditions, and if it's really a 10-year card (i.e., if Feb 2008 is correct), you need to know when you are truly eligible for citizenship.

I was told my approval date is Jan 30th according to the letter recieved from USCIS and also told by my AO aswell. I don't mind waiting the extra 3yrs plenty of time for us to save up the money aswell as allow me to study for the testing an also save all our evidence. I am not sure how I can scan my card but it says at the top PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD then my name an A# DOB Catagory IR6 Sex Country of Birth CARD EXPIRES IN RED WRITING 2/04/18 then directly below resident since 2/13/06 same date as my reciepts. When I recover from my surgery an I feel like sitting in the car for 5hrs I will take the trip to my local office but for right now I will just sit tight if anything in the morning I will call my AO as she gave me her direct phone # an ask her about it. It's not urgent for me to become a USC but something I would like to do for myself an my family. Either way I am just happy to be finally done for now with Namecheck. Mr F thank you for your comment as you being an attorney I take what you say with the upmost respect as this is your speciality. I also respect Rene an Ray for your inputs too as you both have been extremly supportive. Thank you.

Re: ? and answers please.....ty....UPDATE
Hi All
Just wanted to inform you all indeed I did have a USCIS typo error on my card so after I file the I-90 at their expense I will recieve my new permant resident card with corrected date on it...well I hope..lol. Atleast now I know my correct dates courtesy of my AO an know exactly when I can file my papers. Thanks all for your inputs.
