Advice plz.
Hello,
After receiving my masters, I joined a company which processed my H1B visa and my
status changed from F1 to H1B. Last year, I was laid off by the company and I
enrolled into a local community college (Associate degree in a different field). I
then applied for change of status from H1B to F1 in August 2001. In April 2002, INS
asked me to submit additional documents within three months (old I-20, proof of
residence in US and home country, bank statement, etc) which I submitted in first
week of June. I am still waiting for the approval. Any idea when should I be
expecting the approval ?
In year 2001, I also applied and received an admission in a graduate school. I
received the I-20 from the graduate school and am looking to start in Fall/August. I
plan to do a transfer of F1 status from my current community college to graduate
school but am still waiting for the approval of F1 visa. Any suggestions?
Also the community college's INS processing center is in California and graduate
school INS processing center is in Texas.
What are my options if I don't receive the F1 approval by Fall/August ?
Thanks
