Interesting article here:
http://www.worldwideerc.org/Resource...-20091120.html
"BAL has learned that USCIS will follow its prior practice and, for the current fiscal year, set aside approximately 700 Chile-Singapore H-1B1 numbers. The remaining 6,100 Chile-Singapore H-1B1 numbers will be available for regular H-1B use. This means that, out of an overall number of 64,300 available H-1B numbers (i.e. 65,000 minus the 700 set aside for Chile-Singapore), 55,600 have already been utilized."
So - with 700 set aside for the FTA, there was 2,800 remaining as of last Tuesday....

Is this likely to be a growing trend - as in seeing more and more free slots every year from now on?

Unfortunately not approved yet. I just meant that it was accepted into this year's cap, not rejected because CIS had reached the limit.

Thanks very much for the info.
Based on your recent experiences how long it may take to get approved? CA?

"As of December 15, 2009, approximately 64,200 H-1B cap-subject petitions had been filed."
