2 year HRR waiver, no objection letter, advice needed
I am aware that it is difficult to get a waiver especially when US or
home government funds are involved. However, based on the situation
described below I would appreciate an opinion on the likelihood of
getting a waiver, or if there is an attorney that specializes in
getting waivers:
1. I received a partial fulbright scholarship BUT:
2. The Institute of International Education (IIE) was the one that
found a university that offered scholarships and was the liaison.
3. I received partial scholarship tuition from the private
University, NOT fulbrigth or IIE and only for 2 years, since I had
transferred to another school, since I still had to pay $14,000 on my
own.
4. The scholarship I received is available to anyone by the private
university.
5. The only funds I received from fulbright was a roundtrip ticket
which should not have cost more than $800.
6. I am currently serving the 2 year HRR (7 months) but need to get a
waiver, or at least complete only one year, since I have a big
employment opportunity and I dont want to lose it.
Assuming I get a no objection letter, how likely is that I will get a
waiver?
thanks
