Default [I-129F, K3] Still waiting for 2nd NOA ...

Hello everybody,

My wife (USC) who lives in NYC filed for the I-129F on April 4, 2002 for the K-3
visa. She received the 1st NOA a couple of weeks after.

We are now on June 22, 2002. Still no news from the INS.

How come it is much faster for some other people like Richard Sun ?

Any comments would be very welcome. Thanks.

Scott

Some people are just lucky I guess.... like me and my husband for example. We filed
our I-130 on March 18, 2002 and received the 1st NOA on March 30th. On April 1st we
mailed the I-129f to Chicago, it was forwarded to Missouri on April 3rd. Then we had
our I-130 approved on June 11th and the I-129f was approved on June 17th. We didn't
even have to file for the K-3 and if I had known that the I-130 was going to be
approved so quickly I would've saved myself the $110.00 I paid for the K-3, because
we can't use it now.

Have patience.... I got really pissed when I heard that someone else on this board
who filed after we did got approved before we did, but then we got rewarded with the
approval of the I-130. Just keep checking it and keep the faith!

I wish you the best of luck and speedy reunion. My friend did the 130 route before
the K-3s were available. He lives in Ohio, so I do not know what service center he
used, but it was about in teh neighborhood of 11 months for the approval by INS.
August will be 2 years and he is still waiting for the word from the consulate in
Santo Domingo, DR.

One of the things that a local INS inspector told me, is that she tells her cases
that after the 130 is approved take the letter to the consulate and tell them you are
ready for your visa and force their hand. Needless to say he is a bit upset with the
State department at this time, because they have had his application for so long. It
was almost a year before they forwarded the package to the consulate.

I will be sending off my 130 here next week. Need to finish the translation of the
wife's birth certificate.

Good Luck Jerry

I applied in October of 2001 and didn't receive approval until March of 2002. At the
same time I heard others were getting approvals in a few months. I guess it's just
the luck of the draw I was told by my congressman that if you reach the end of the
estimated time they give you with your first NOA, then you should start contacting
INS. We did this. Actually my congressman did when ours went over 100 days, and soon
we had an approval.

Scott

I my receipt date for the k 3 was March 22. My approval was May 28 but I didnt get
the letter til June 1? It was the following saturday. then June 10 I got the letter
from the NVC saying my case was approved. it gave me a case number. it took 9 weeks
on my side. Just keep patient. the only thing that unnerved me was the machine at MSC
kept telling me that my case information couldnt be found. leaves ones jaw hanging.
When I got off vacation I called and found it was approved and in the mail it came.
Now my wife just has to do the medical and pay for the visa and then wait for it to
be delivered if there are no problems

Thanks a lot for your warm thoughts !

I am very happy for people who could reunite very quick.

I'm just getting more and more impatient ... I've been having a long distance
relationship for four years before marrying my wife earlier this year. I just cannot
wait to spend time with her and to love her.

Best Regards to everybody.

Cheers, Scott
