Default "Follow to Join"

Hi All ,

My I-485 is about to approved and I am planning to get married. I am planning to bring her on H4 and add her in my GC. What happens if my GC is approved before adding her in my GC and GC is approved after my marraige date . Is it possible to do a
"Follow to Join" and starts the consular processing in the local consulate. I am an Indian National and marrying to a Romanian National.

Thanks

I don't know if your spouse/fiance will be able to get a green card or adjust status. I think one of you have to be a USC in order for that to happen. I know someone will correct me if I am wrong. You should read some of the other post here because that is a question that is asked a lot. Good luck!

I'm hazy on this but I believe that to be eligible for "follow to join" benefits your marriage will have to occur before your GC is approved.

I could be wrong and you really want a DEFINITE answer on this as if you get it wrong you could well be waiting 5 years to be able to bring her to the US.

Fly there and get married ASAP. If your I-485 is approved prior to marriage
your spouse is not eligible for a follow-to-join visa and it will take six
years + to get her over here!

Andy.

I'm not really here - it's just your warped imagination.
