I've been in Australia almost a year now. Over the past few months I've felt more settled than ever and I'm enjoying life a bit more. However, recently I've been having nostalgic thoughts about England and I am starting to miss it. Am I starting to get homesick? Is it possible to feel like this a year in when you've felt more settled? Thanks for your help!

Totally normal. Your new life has settled down, you don't have to think about visa, move, job, house, blah blah blah and suddenly it's a bit 'oh shit what happens now' and the homesick blues kick in. Work your way through it, think about why you moved and if need be and if finances, work and heart allows, plan a trip back next year.

I am planning a trip back next year

It's not just friends & family, but the place. I miss where I used to live and certain luxuries (such as food, lifestyle, places to visit.) I am happy in Melbourne, I'd say it's a 50-50 between England and Australia at the moment. Only time will tell!
