Gotta love the army life, the OH has served 18 years in the British Army and is into his 4th year of serving in the ADF. We've been together nearly 6 years and I've just completed week one, of my first ever deployment, only 7 months and 3 weeks to go... :(

(Now just to find someone to look after our nearly 3 year old boxer at Christmas, so I can go back to NI for a few weeks, anyone any ideas? Not going to go down the kennels route, just wouldn't be fair for that length of time, and also not keen on having a stranger in the house, house/dog sitting…)

All the best on the deployment! Hope you have a good support base around you there (Military Wives Choir springs to mind!).

This is going to sound awful, but I tend to surround myself with civvie friends, and a few military. The bad press SOME military wives get, is often warranted lol

OOPS, been here 4 years (on the 6th February just past) - still love it. Been back to the UK twice now, and both times was homesick for here. The last time was Christmas 2013 and I was homesick pretty much from day dot, which was very odd as my other half is currently deployed in the big sandpit for 8 months, so apart from my dog back here, I was better off in the UK with family. Left teaching, after 13 long years, in December. WOO HOOOO! A new career beckons, which I start training for next month, watch this space!

Over and out, me x
