Hi Midgetjem
You were same month as us, so it was great to see your update. (We are still waiting to sell the damn house).
As another poster said, what a rollercoaster!! I really hope it all comes good and your all the stronger for it

Rollercoaster is an understatement - you poor thing. It must seem like things won't ever get better, but they will. Have you thought about trying a different area in Perth, or even a different state? We lived in Brisbane for a year in 2006, and I hated it, so we moved back to the UK. Regretted it ever since, so we're heading to Perth once we've got the house sorted here.
Good luck with everything and take care

We too came bk after living a year in Adelaide 2006 - 2007,regretting it now, should have gone straight to Perth, never mind when we get brave again thats where we`re heading also! mainly due to plenty of jobs on offer in Perth, can I ask your reason for moving to Perth?

We kept in touch with an australian guy that my hubbie worked with in Brisbane and he has moved to Perth and he's set up a job for him. That's probably the main reason, but also the weather - being hot, but not too humid. That's the trouble with Queensland - the humidity is a killer! I know that Perth has a few downsides too, like flies, mosquito's, and some people say it's a bit isolated, but I don't think that there can be anywhere in the world that is perfect!! As long as we are within minutes of the beach/ocean and a great outdoors lifestyle then that's my idea of a perfect enough place. If we decide that Perth is not for us then I certainly won't be making the same mistake twice - I'm not going to be heading back here to Portsmouth!! We'll try somewhere else in Oz - it's a big enough country!!
Take the bull by the horns and get back over there!

I agree with you about queensland, we visited there for a hol,it is lovely but humid and no light evenings in summer!!!!
BTW, love to see you in Perth, Im just too scared at the moment to put myself back in the position of no job, no house and no mates!

Hi Lynn, I`d love to get bk over as the only thing keeping me here is a house I bought and my job which I love! and thats about it, we need a bomb up us to get us moving again, eldest child would go 2 morrow, youngest who`s 13 says `no way!` its very difficult, if we had jobs to go to, then thats half the battle isnt it?

Well, I've got no friends here or over there, so you'll have to set that bomb or I'm going to be very lonely!!!!
I'm sure you will know when the time is right - my hubbie said that he wouldn't go back, but all of a sudden he decided that he DID want to!! As for your youngest not wanting to go, that makes it a very hard decision, but who knows they may change their mind one day. 13 is a very awkward age isn't it? It's always hard to please everyone - we're leaving my 19yr old over here. She's at university and has got a steady boyfriend of 2yrs, so she has no intention of coming! Hard to leave her, but she does have her own life now and we have to accept that - as heartbreaking as it is! She is moving in with my parents, so that is definately a comfort

Take care - Lynn x

Blime, thats more difficult, but your right she has her own life, my eldest is almost 18 and has since coming bk to the UK- got herself a steady BF, hes lovely, But we cant live our life wondering if he`d come over or not,,the times not right BUT we would love to get over before our visa`s run out in Jan 2011.
Hope we can sort it out to get over nxt year, we need to start hating our jobs and start thinking more of sunshine and BBQ`s,,,I miss going the beach for walks and a swim!!!

OMG Jan, so sorry to hear your rough start. It doesnt sound like your moaning just that things are tough. Really hope things pick up for you soon and you get jobs sorted. The family sound a nightmare. Dont blame you for getting out as soon as you could.
Big hugs

Thats the key to it all, your friends are what will get you through (if they`re good ones that is)
Start trying to have some fun,use the fab weather to get out & about, socialise and remember why you went in the 1st place because believe me if you decide to return the biggest thing you miss is the BBQ`s and friends you make!
