Re: 5 weeks in Mandurah

We are in Rockingham and would love to meet up. We like being in Rockingham as we are near to Perth and once the train opens it will become a commuter place, and we have the beautiful beaches. Yes I know about the chemicals in Quinana but I think that was enough years ago and enough experts now say it is safe.

Anyway would love to meet up at some point with other people who have done the same as us. We don't regret anything. Hubbie has got a job in Perth CBD and we are moving to be near the train once it opens.

If any of you want any info about Rockingham feel free to ask. I must admit I have spent more time looking to replace articles we left in England as we only bought 40 kilos each of baggage plus very heavy hand luggage, but are not shipping anything, we decided to buy everything again.

Anyway would love to hear from you all

Angie and Mark

hi
My name is Tina, and I'm all new to this, but my husband is a carpenter. Vetassess have only just taken the payment but have heard nothing in the post so far re a test date, so any help would be appreciated!
he is asking me to ask loads and loads of questions...Did your husband have to go round many firms in Mandurah to find work, or how did he go about it? What sort of wages is he getting? Is he a first or second fixer usually, and what is he doing now? And how many hours a week is he working? Really sorry!!!!
We have 2 girls and obviously , the schools in Mandurah, I want to ask a load more questions, but feel guilty, as we've only just started on this roller coaster ride!!!
Any help would be great as feel like a real newbie to this...
Live in Hemel Hempstead at the mo, and just want to be there!:o

Hi Tina,
There is carpentry work around ,lots of it is roofing ,In Uk he did 1st & 2nd fix ,here he has been doing decking & pergolas down on the canals(nice & easy but not the best paid)He is doing shuttering at the moment (not so nice & easy but better paid). He is working the usual Mon to Fri 7.30-4/4.30,there is overtime but not yet felt the need to do it.
Have had no problems with schools & always happy to give any advice .We love it here ,know the process seems to take forever ,but you do get there in the end:thumbsup:

Hi Robs
can you give us more of a clue about the wages???! Bit worried about the cost of living etc and the wages being loads less. He is quite well paid for a chippie and has been with the same guy for 11 years, so total change
Cheers and thanks for quick reply. Know you're enjoying yourself! Wish we were there too

ignore me.
had had a bad day at work and was too knackered to go on pc really, but have since found your message, and thanks so much for the info.
It did seem bad to start with, but then when you think that's take home, it's ok.
Just had the invoice to say they have got paperwork , but that's it, so a very long way to go, cos if we miss April assessment, think next one is July!
Will email them in a few days as cut off for receiving next lot of money is 26th Feb.
Enjoy, and talk soon
