4 Years

Well folks almost 4 years, as the people who went through the visa process with us will know we decided on Townsville, and I have to say as a start of place we loved it, a little humid, but hey after england it was just wonderful and provided a wonderful start to our new life, we have had our ups and downs its not easy starting afresh in a new country, but it offers so much here, that I have never looked back and said should we or shouldn't we.
We were in Townsville for over 2 years, but decided to move somewhere a little bigger or at least had a bigger town close by, so we decided on the Sunshine Coast. Weather a little more normal but we are still coastal and we have Brisbane up the road, and we love it love it. We have been very fortunate, my husband is doing well in his own business, we have our own house, we have a wonder life here, Shosh goes to a private school and just loves it, and is doing very well. The down points is that I have lost both my parents while I have been here, and although I was able to see my father before he died, I was unable to see my mum or even get to her funeral due to funds being low. But I always new this may happen, They had 8 weeks here just after we moved here and they just loved it.....
The Australian people are just so nice, we have made a lot of friends...its lovely that it is so family orientated here, which is wonderful, you never need to bother about baby sitters. We dont do the amount of outside stuff I thought we would, ie bbqs ect. and I dont sunbathe any more lol, a lot more sun clever. unlike in england when the sun popped out so was I.
All I can say is that for all those still waiting.......IT REALLY IS WORTH THE WAIT. YOUR GONNA LOVE IT

I bet your Mum would understand that you couldn't get back. She'll be just glad you are happy and content in your life
I am the same with the sunbathing thing. I did it the first year, but haven't since...I now sit in the shade all the time

Hope you continue to be as happy as you have been

Wonderful post, great to hear you've settled and are doing well, great motivation for anyone having cold feet! Sorry to hear about your parents, but as my mum keeps telling me, that's what parents live for: giving their kids roots to grow and wings to fly.
