The 4 year update
#1

Hey guys. I popped on here a few days ago once again in the midst of Visa stress but ended up getting distracted by another post rather than coming on to update as I intended.
So, straight to it. It’s been 4 years and 2 months since making the big move from Bristol in the UK to Aussie.
Still loving it here so far. We originally moved to South Australia, not even sure I remember why I chose there but I’m glad that was my starting point. However, after a while I started missing working in larger hospitals. That and we did regular holidays to Cairns we decided to make the move to North Qld 16 months ago.
it’s hot up here, it’s humid but I couldn’t be any happier. I love where I work, I love the people I work with and despite the high crime rate (no need to say where I live, that’s enough of a clue
) I love living here.
Master Clacfart is now 3 years old! He’s a cracker and I’m so happy he gets to grow up where I feel he will have a great lifestyle.
the biggest stress obviously, the visa. We applied for our PR on Jan 1st 2021….. 26 months on we have just been asked 2 weeks ago to submit new AFP checks (we originally did them when we first applied for PR but they obviously expired). They were uploaded on the weekend and our status has changed to further assessment so hopefully not too much longer.
I have to say, finally, I feel at home. I don’t feel out of place. I’m grateful.

Can't believe your little man is already 3 - that's flown by. Glad you found a part of Australia that suits you
