Well me and Amber arrived on jan 27th. We're staying with her parents in Kalamunda for the forseeable. I have to say that at the moment i'm loving life in Australia. We've managed to sort everything out with little hassle. We've set a joint bank account, joined medicare, joined hbf, registered with drs and a hospital ( Amber's pregnant and due the end of March) got a car (essential!) car insurance, changed my drivers licence to a western Australian one, bought loads of baby gear!, and i've got a job at Jason windows which allows me to do lots of overtime!
Life in Perth really is much better than in the Uk. The weather helps of course, but I've found people to be friendlier and life to be more relaxed. Of course not everything is perfect. Television is very annoying! Ads every 10 minutes! Then again I didn't come here to watch tv! I've found a couple of martial art clubs that i'm training at (something i was into in the Uk) so i'm making friends. The guys at work are a good bunch of lads and i actually enjoy my job, although i could do with more money (who couldn't?) but as i've only been there 3 weeks and have had a pay rise already i can't complain.
I really am very happy here although it's early days. The only thing i miss about the Uk at the moment are my friends and family. Email and phone helps but it's not the same. I'm not homesick (yet) and I hope that when the baby comes I'll be too busy to be.
I hope you guys who read this find it interesting. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I am so pleased to read your update. We are at the very early stages of thinking about making a move but have been finding a lot of negative things about it. It is refreshing to hear things are working out for you so far. I think you will be busy when the baby comes - in a very good way! good luck to you

Welcome to Perth Hills. We are just down the road from you in Maida Vale.
It's lovely here. I hope you settle well.
Good luck with the new baby.
