I can reverse park, but much prefer to drive in forwards. It is easier for me to back out, although I have bumped into things occasionally- or rather things have bumped into me. Still waiting for the insurance to sort that one out. Why is it more fuel efficient? You have to manoeuvre in either way.
Reversing supposedly uses more when the engine is cold than first would, but the difference is less on a warm engine. The difference is probably not a lot, but the plus is you also get to see what you are driving into if you've reversed in and drive out

I'm more likely to hit something reversing in!!!

After nearly 5 years it seems like it- it was below $1 when we first got here, so it has increased by 50%
