3 and 1/2 years in utopia!!!
hhhhmmm what to say lol!!
We have been in brissy for 3 1/2 years have had lot of ups and a few downs, main advice would be,
* you will no doubt try to replicate what you had in the uk, try not to, australia is NOT the uk, come for a different life and embrace it.
* Don't rush in to buying property its a very expensive mistake to make and not fun moving repeatedly, (we bought a property after 5 months, sold it a year later at a $30,000 loss) wait until you really know the area inside out, (not possible in 5 months!!!!
*Get out, force yourself to say hello to people you dont know and realise that friendships take time to mature like a good wine, oh and speaking of wine drink lots it, isolation feels so much better through the blur of alcohol lol.
* realise how massive this move is and dont be afraid to admit ur struggling, (husband has struggled alot and is now on tablets).
* Realise that shit happens wherever u are and just because the front door falls off, the electricity to house blows up and the babysitter decides to have a party whilst ur out and her "guests" steal your stuff all in the same week!! this could happen anywhere and is not australia's fault!!!
All advice given in the best interest of all people making the massive life changing move that will either be the best move ever or you'll realise its not for you and go back to uk, in either case you'll be where ur meant to be

Good advice although we bought after being here two weeks and knowing nothing about QLD let alone our area. Couldn't have bought better though so it 'can' work.
