Part of the EU ain't it these days? Might have more luck posting in the European part of the forum...and yeah, I know it borders a few ME countries, but don't think anyone in this section lives there.

Nope, untill they sort out the Cyprus issue they are in limbo, 6 to 8 years at the last estimate.

Ditto- I also though they had been accepted into the 'fold' a year or so ago, but according to Wikipedia,they are still def NOT a member....

hmmm...learn something new everyday....but still, worth punting the question in the european section of the site all the same as chances of better luck to be found there than here...

its pretty unlikely they will join. Human rights and Cyprus are 2 of the big issues. also it would be a huge drain on EU resources.

and 90pct or more of the country, including the capital city, isn't even in Europe.

I lived in the TRNC for 8 years and I don't think they will ever sort out the "Cyprus" problem!!

named after Col. Karaoglanoglu who was one of the first Turkish soldiers to fall during the peace mission of July 1974..........it means "son of a Blackman"
