Looking for truck companies in Canada
Me and my husband are currently work in the UK as HGV1 drivers. We are coming out to Canada late september for interviews and to also have a good look around. We currently have contact with H&R in Lethbridge, Bison in Winnipeg and Yanke in Saskatoon. Seeing as we will be in these areas can anyone recommend any other good companies we can contact? We want to work as a team doing the long haul stuff. Thanks to anyone who can help us! LISA & GLEN.

Team driving -- I don't know but do know I once saw a profile on a husband and wife team that drove for Bison. There are lots of adverts on the side of the road I'll try to remember to look out for the team ones. Grah Pompey Born in st Marys so who else is there to support. |

They have since asked me to apply. He's had replies back from Yanke (team only but would like him for an interview), Bison (who want him to go through and immigration service), Siemens (want him to go out there for an interview), BigFreight (not recruiting overseas drivers just at the moment but name on file) Companies that haven't replied are: TTK and H&R are giving the run around - guys in a meeting call back at * o'clock, then he got through to him but he was still in a meeting and said he would call him back, which he never did. Called again a couple of days later and he was away for the day. He doesnt want tanker work as his speciality is flatbeds and hiabs so there is only transx to contact. So all in all he needs to spend over £1000 (flights/hotel/car hire/medicals etc etc) for 1 interview :blink: He's looking at coming out the first week in November but as he can only get a week off work so he is going to be limited to the area he can canvas |

Re: Looking for truck companies in Canada
Hi
That is the same with me and Yanke, I am unsure about Bison as they use a lawyer to carry out the immigration process (costs you a few thousand, which I do not want to give out for some thing I can do myself!) I have looked at others but no action taken yet, how ever look at Gremmie post on Trucking / 1000 JOBS..Now go search Your hubby will find what hes looking for or I will eat my hat - not that I am wearing one in my house!:p I am surfing the links my self!:sneaky: |

check out the thread 1000 jobs  Yup there probably is  we were going through the ones that we knew did the immigration and as I said we are limited to area and times for interviews. Hubby is hoping to be out there by February but I wont be following until July/August, both my son and I have exams in June. After August if my son and I are not out there then we wont be following for a further 2 years as those are the most important school years for my son. We have talked about this and happy with our decision. Any advice is appreciated on companies that actually do do the immigration, but as you say will go trawl the post  |
