Question HGV tanker jobs in OZ and NZ

Hi,
I am a nurse and a planning to immigrate to Australia or New Zealand with my hubbie and two kids. My hubbie is an HGV driver who has ADR and Dangerous goods. He currently drives tankers here in UK. Where can he get a job in OZ and NZ? Anybody know any good companies to contact?

Having a good understanding of Australia I would make a call to:

Alan Scott (MD) of Scot Groupe of Companies

Alan scot is a pioneer in Fuel distribution all over Australia, your hubby can work in any of their depots, and you can reside in any capital city or large town

Here is ya contact info and breif summary FYI

BTW just to let you know on the side of his fuel tankers he had

(A Scott transport) Allan Scott Transport

This is why the name throws people as the A merged into ASCOTT Transport

Ascot Haulage (NT) Pty Ltd is a member of the privately owned Scott Group of Companies, which commenced transport operations in 1952, and are now widely regarded as Australias leading privately owned transport operation.

Complicated, Noooooooo Easy, get hubby to read this post he will understand my talking lingo, better still do you want my UK phone contact?

I am on the road too, but reside in Boro....but follow Hammers....

Two things, read the other post or better post the info here, cost to get full Open Class Heavy Goods in Adelaide will be around $500 AUD there is a guy |I know in Gepps Cross a suburb in Adelaide that will put ya hubby through and he is OK but have a read of this reply, as I explain the process here to drive in SA....being Adelaide is where you are going also.

Susan, LOOP HOLE ok dont tell the world.....

Before you leave get hubby to pop into RAA / RAC whatever name it is they produce an International Drivers Permit/License, valid 12-months......Take in a passport photo and his C+E and tell him to tell who issues the Permit that the Aust equlivant is the MC.....

In Sth Aust, they will let hubby drive......

I quote direct from South Aust Govt Web Site

Quote:
If you hold a current overseas Driver's Licence of a particular class you may drive a vehicle of an equivalent class in South Australia if:

you also hold a current international driving permit

Now another loop-hole.

Hubby can work / drive / No Problems, when he understands and trys out a few 1,000,000 miles he can then just go sit the test.

Oh, remember - do NOT let others know, this is between you and me.....

If he uses his International Drivers Permit/License, and he is pulled over for speeding,,,,,,,NO POINT's just the fine penalty, as International Drivers are excluded from the scheme.

This message will self destruct in 10 mins
