Hi everyone
I'm a truck driver from the UK but only here in Vancouver on a work visa until June next year so I'm not getting my Canadian Licence however, are there any companies which hire driver's mates?
I have been in Vancouver for 3 months now and am itching to get out on the road!! :curse:
I look forward to your replies

There's no point in taking any test as I am only here until June next year so forking out all that cash would be a waste really as it won't be much use in the UK. Plus I don't have that sort of cash!
I just wondered if any companies took extra people on to help out. I worked for a food company and all the vehicles were double manned because of the amount of stuff to deliver

Mate
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mate is served with a metal straw from a shared hollow calabash gourd. The straw is called a bombilla in Spanish, a bomba in Portuguese, and a masassa in Arabic. The straw is traditionally made of silver. Modern commercially available straws are typically made of nickel silver, called Alpaca, stainless steel, or hollow-stemmed cane. The gourd is known as a mate or a guampa, while in Brazil it has the specific name of Chimarrão or cuia. Even if the water comes in a very modern thermos, the infusion is traditionally drunk from mates or cuias. However, "tea-bag" type infusions of mate (mate cocido) have been on the market in Argentina for many years under such trade names as "Cruz de Malta" and in Brazil under the name "Mate Leão".

Why do Brits call friends "mate"?
Answer - WHY ohh WHY do they feel the need to do this instead of just calling him a friend, or a buddy? They say it all the ****ing time! I guess mate is the British equivalent of buddy, but it just sounds really gay. It's something that animals do!
