Canadian OTR Driving Jobs
Will appreciate information about my prospects for finding an OTR trucking job in Canada. I am currently in Toronto on a visit and have an Ontario AZ license. I have close to 3 years experience as a distribution driver driving various kinds of light commercial vehicles and straight trucks. Will it be possible for me to find a Canadian company that will take me on as a long haul tractor trailer driver with my experience?
I am considering doing a re-training refresher AZ course with a certified school which will give me a TTSAO certificate. This certificate is considered for insurance purposes, by most insurance companies in Canada as the equivalent of two years Canadian truck driving experience. A TTSAO certificate is also preferred by most trucking companies over a regular driving school certificate. Before I go ahead and take the plunge I will appreciate any information about whether it would be worth it and will it improve my prospects of finding employment, considering my experience?
