So did you bother to watch it last night, I have to admit I thought it was kinda good, did feel sorry for Cheryl Cole poor lass!!
There was some really great talent and much better then American Idol.
Loved the young black lad that sang a Steve Wonder song, and the 3 chaps that had a lead singer that looked like a cross between Colin Farrel and Enrique Iglesias
WTF was the guy with his ding a ling hanging out thinking of!!

I find it hard to believe that many would not have understood Cheryl Cole last night.
The Stevie Wonder guy was not bad, but the garbage guy was good too.
I think the guy who dropped his troos, was a set up, if the show did not have him in as a novelty act, then security would have just dragged him off, no comments, no feedback. Make you wonder about all the wacko acts. I do not think he was hanging is ding-a-ling out to dry, the on screen mask, made it look that way, but I think he had a pair of crusties on.
The 3 guys singing; the main singer guy, he wants to drop at least one of those guys who was not on a par.

I did wonder about the guy with his pants down normally security would of had him face down on the stage, your theory could well be correct!!

Again I agree the guy and the 3 boy band I would go one further and tell him to go solo, we will see but all in all I found it quite an enjoyable show!!

I'll have to check it out. I saw the ad's for it and wasn't sure if It was going to be any better/worse than all the other talent shows on TV.

The good thing is there is a lower age limit if any not sure, and also you do not have to be a solo singer so it kinda gives it a nice mix rather then AI

So often, on these shows, as soon as they say "my own song" or "original song" its a clue that it will be terrible, but Chris Rene ( I just googled who the garbage guy is) had an excellent song, well delivered.

The "Elvis" song was on UK TV last night so I guess it's being transmitted without any delays - IIRC American Idol was shown at least a few days behind. This means we have both the UK X Factor and the US X Factor being shown from now until Christmas!
I don't understand the desk microphones in the US version though. The voice level fades in and out as the judges look away or sit back or whatever. What's wrong with the lapel mics? Tougher for the hard of hearing to lip read as the mic obscures the mouth though I guess they would be less likely to watch a singing show.
Subtitles! I thought that was an American thing to understand British accents, but there must have been a dozen last night for things which I thought were clear enough to understand.
Nice to see Simon again - love him or hate him, he is entertaining! He can at least be very nice when the situation warrants it.
Yeah, some people might hate the X Factor but that's their choice. Downtown Abbey is being heavily advertised at the moment and I can't stand it. Stereotypical characters (bitchy wife, west country accented cook, etc) and contrived storylines. And don't get me started on Eastnationdale!

But yes the programme is likely re-edited for UK TV - Pepsi cups blurred out, for example, fewer ad breaks probably, and a Brit doing the links outside in the crowd.UK X Factor is boot camp tonight.

I think we have the same Brit (Welshman?) outside.
I watched some both nights, it seems even more contrived than the other talent shows.
What about the guy who came on and did James Brown?
He blew it but Simon had a premonition and asked him to do 15secs acapella, cut to commercial, then a clip showing the guy is homeless and this is his last chance, he blows out a rendition of "It's a man's life" the panel love him and he's through! Hurray!
Then Simon comes out and say's "I don't know anything about your life"
Jeez! do they think were all zipped up the back?
