He could have been a disappointed customer, but more likely it was religious related “doing gods work”. Guns, religion and Republican politics a dangerous combination.

My first thought was how horrific it is that 8 people have been murdered. No idea why you're dribbling about strip clubs in other countries, but whatever floats your boat.

This was presented at work as an anti-Asian terrorist attack in Georgia. Georgia threw me, as I thought of the country, and I was thinking of the attack as being Atlanta. I assumed I had missed some corroborating information.
It looks like they jumped the gun, as it looks like it might be a sex addiction thing.
"... he had a sex addiction and an "issue with porn," and claimed to see the spas as "a temptation for him that he wanted to eliminate"

The headlines well on CNN were about the Asian connection, just reminded me that there is a movement to ensure women's safety, well that may be more a UK thingy, but not solely a UK thingy.

Whatever his motives, how did he, in his early twenties, arrive at "now I have to go and kill some people".? Never mind his ease of access to the means to do it.

I wish I knew Lion, or at least I wish someone knew because then it might be able to be fixed.

Better mental health services?
Access to a decent standard of living (ie basic needs properly met) for everyone?
Access to good education for everyone?
Effective and properly funded early intervention programs for young people displaying anti-social or other troubling behaviours?
Gun control? (now I've done it)

All good ideas..... but do evil happenings have to be related to the above causes? Seems like everytime there is a mass shooting, deliberate arson attack or whatever, out come the excuses for why it happens - had a tough life/poverty/unemployed/broke up with his girlfriend/political leanings etc etc etc.
Maybe the guy is just plain no good and deserves to be in jail ...

Cause and affect (or is it effect? I never remember)
In a material World, governed by physics; every event has a cause. Excuses, are not excusing, they are explaining. particularly important to understand, if there is any interest in future avoidance.
Concepts of good and bad, don't really exist in a World governed by physics. There is what we like, desire, or want; and what we don't like, and want to avoid.- Desired outcomes, and outcomes we want avoided. To obtain the desired outcomes, and avoid those not wanted, we have to look at the cause, and what can be done to change outcomes. Its not about taking moral stand points, but of considering end goals. None of this means people shouldn't go to jail, whatever the cause, as a tool to avoid unwanted outcomes..

"Evil" happenings have to be related to something. If someone is "no good" there is a reason behind it. Whether they are incarcerated or not is a different matter.
