He did use a couple of saw horses for the scaffold(ing). He put in an a/c unit in the master bedroom window, but removed the center pane of glass and built? a sort of wall there to hold the a/c unit, but the sliding windows either side won't be able to open now. The houses all have whole house a/c units, so either his is broken or he finds it too expensive to run. I can only think that if/when he comes to sell the house those small a/c units, 2 so far, sticking out the house will take the house value down quite a bit. No-one else in the street or neighbouring streets have those.

He just sounds like a plain, old fashioned red-neck engineer.

Not sure if "red-neck" is the right expression for this guy, but he comes from the Philippines, if they train them to "red-neck" standards there, then that might be the right expression.

In that part of Asia everyone is an amateur air conditioning engineer - it is considered to be a basic survival skill ...

Window a/c units are common here, central air is pricey and there are not enough warm days in a year to justify for most people in paying large sums of money for whole house system, so people will just cool their bedrooms or other small rooms.

We have a portable a/c unit, not a window unit since our window cannot accommodate one and being a renter in an apartment it's not even possible to have a whole apartment system, although at only 400sq feet or so, the portable unit can cool the entire place...

Oh puh-lease!

99.999% of US police do exactly what their job requires to effectively police the community and you don't have to go to Canada to find a police officer who goes "above and beyond" in helping members of the community. Here's an example in Florida from last month.

Can't just let a harmless bit of hyperbole go without sucking blue cock, can you?

Right. You didn't mention donuts, so that's how I knew it wasn't 100% factual information

I always assumed the cops and donuts thing was just a Simpsons gag.

Visited a Lamar's Donuts on Saturday and it looked like half the Denver-Metro police force were in there! My wife couldn't understand why I was chuckling to myself so much.
