Default The "World" Series...

.... has been a good excuse to drink 4 bottles of Tennants, 1 litre of Blackthorn and 2 cans of Molson "X". If it doesn't end soon, I'm gonna have to hit the scotch.

I hear you I can't stand watching guys run around in circles. The only thing more boring has to be NASCAR!!

And the guy's at work find it strange that I like football (soccer to them)

footie is my favourite but if you look at it from a Yanks point of view then football is just men running from left to right instead of in circles.

True. But at least footie is pretty much non stop end to end action, sometimes.

They can't complain, their NFL is just left to right too but it stops after every play.

Other than Basketball and Ice Hockey, I don't think I'll ever get in to US sports. They are just too slow for my liking.

I can't get into Basketball or Ice Hockey, just watch the last 30 seconds and you know what happened the whole game just like a NASCAR race.

I do like me some NFL and Baseball though. Those are more like a chess game and trying to outsmart the other team.

But you can watch a bunch of guys play cards ...? !!! How they can televise poker is beyond me ... or snooker, or darts ... or golf for that matter!

I grew up as a huge soccer fan in UK, but once you lose track of which players are which, soccer becomes incredibly boring in my book. I see a bunch of guys running around, endlessly, constantly gaining and losing possession almost arbitrarily (yes, sometimes you get good 'tackles' but a lot of the time, you just get bad passes). After 90 minutes you still have a 0-0 score ... if that isn't the definition of boring, I don't know what is! I have to say, though - it does look like great exercise! I've learned to enjoy baseball - tremendous strategy involved.
