Chianti, a decent merlot or an Australian chardonnay works for me

It was a tad surreal to see a touch of 'normalcy' in their lives, if you get my drift

I once saw a film clip where they were picnicing (is that how you spell it..it look weird) and doing their own washing up. It looked strange to see Prince Phillip in yellow gloves.

I bought a bottle of Yellow Tail Shiraz tonight. Our grocery store doesn't have much of a selection, mostly local Missouri stuff with some Cali and Aussie and a couple types of Italian.
I haven't tried it yet, I caught my wife's headcold and can't taste a damn thing so I'm saving it.:curse: I'll let you know what I think!

On a related note, my wife and I had a "discussion" concerning what kind of cup to use with the wine. One of us figured any cup would work and used a couple of water glasses (Good glass ones, not the plastic ones from the fair). The other said this was all wrong and refused to drink until the real wine cups were drug out of the cabinet where the've been for years gathering dust, washed, dried etc... etc...
So do you have to drink your wine out of a "wine" glass or can you use any old vessel?

My daughters bought us some lovely red wine glasses for our anniversary this year. They are crystal and very simple and elegant and I daren't use them incase I break them. How stupid is that.

IMO the type of glass makes all the difference ie wine should be drank from a wine glass, brandy from a brandy glass etc. It just doesn't taste the same in a regular drinking glass.
