Default What's on your local ballots?

So voting is 4th Nov around here at least and one of the big things on the ballot around the state is whether they should expand the bottle redemption to include water.

Oh and some towns are voting if they should have a new gas pipe installed or not.

Big, high brow stuff here

So what about you lot, anything fun?

Oops, today was the last day to register to vote.
We have a medical marijuana vote (yes from me) and a 1% sales tax increase to fund better buses.(LOL)
I would have voted Crist for Gov because Scott is in, and Pam Bondi for AG, because she is hot.

Our school district is having another bite at a bond issue to get a new football stadium (40 or 50 mill - can't remember exactly). They tried it last year, just bundled with a small STEM center (5 mill), and an AG center (10 mill or so) and it failed. This time they're bundling it with a whole host of upgrades on existing schools, plus a few new campuses, up to around 750 mill now, so presumably hoping the stadium gets lost in the smoke and passes because folk want/need the other items.

I can't see anything on the local ballot for bonds. There is a state-wide constitutional amendment to allow defendants in criminal trials to waive their right to a jury trial, which if it passes will further reduce the chances of me being called for jury service.

Pension reform for city workers, to change from a fixed and guaranteed pension (defined benefit system) to a 401(k)-style defined contribution plan. Also includes plans to stop pension spiking.

Also i notice here they are having school board elections. Never heard of anything like that in the UK, could be wrong.

Well, Maine is considering banning trapping bears, which every other state did long ago.

But it'll probably fail to pass. Again.

Not in the US so not nearly as interesting, just a couple people wanting to be on city council, they finally got enough signed up to actually have a need to put up signs, they were having issues as few were willing to run.

Package stores, since it dawned on some people that it is a good source of tax revenue. Particularly as the next town 20 mins away approved it last time, and the next county also has it. I expect and hope it will pass.

In the mud slinging campaign which my opponent and her supporters have started. You shouldn't let me seduce myself into your bed with my smooth British accent, and I'm bald. Two of the nicer things been said behind my back at the moment.
