I filed my I485/I130 on April 26, 2006. I was asked for more evidence at the beginning of August which I am about to send back tomorrow, including more information about a joint sponsor.
What happens now? I think that I will probably be waiting for either an interview date, or (hopefully not) another RFE.

Any idea how long it will be before I hear anything else? Is there any way to tell by looking at the timelines how long before I hear from DHS again?

What happens now is that you sit and wait again until you hear back from USCIS, either with another RFE, or an interview date. The only way to get an estimate of your interview date would be to check out www.uscis.gov, processing times, look up you local district office, and see what date they are processing now. That should give you a rough timeline. Your mileage may vary since you had an RFE.
