I did this for a year, so boring.
I would walk a lot of places if if wasn't too hot, I did a lot of cooking from scratch, cleaning and laundry, my house was spotless. That came to an end
I second meetup.com I think there are some expat groups near my area on there.

And like everybody else has said....you've got to get out...even if its only walking to the end of the street, its a great way to meet the neighbours and it gets you out of the house..(until you can get a car)

DO ALL DAY !!!! 
Well, for one Ive got the washing to do, do you know how much washing a woman causes !!.Then theres the vacumming and the tidying up after her!.She picks plates and dishes for each simple item,I'm giving serious thoughts to paper plates in the future ! My hands will never be the same again.Ive got the dusting to do,do you know the vast majority of household dust is caused through human dead skin, well ! Then the long battles with the rif raf at Walmart etc,getting the bargains 10 cenbts of this and that,theres never a dull moment I'll tell you 
! Then for rest of the 15 hours of daylight I'm on the Golf course.
