Perhaps you can find yourself a nice driver at a Mecum Auction!

A Cadillac STS might be more suitable than an Escalade., a 4 yo Escalade will set you back about $40k , which is about the same as an Audi A8, still considerably less than a Shelby

Thats correct. When I lived in Albuquerque I bought a couple of 15 year old cars and they were rust free. Even areas with scratches to bare metal had little to no rust. A car of similar age in NY the body would be falling apart.

I have not see many rusty cars here up in Oregon, however we are not allowed to use that s word and traffic just stops. Most people have 4wd or fwd and chains if they want to go out. Yes it rains a reasonable amount, but it's mainly the salt that causes rusting I believe.

Salt does a lot of damage, combined with the grit that causes chips, but most modern cars (ones built in the past 30+ years) are largely immune to rust from mere moisture. I have a 17 year old Accord parked outside and the only rust is from tiny chips in the hood - and they mostly occured 13+ years ago, and have hardly spread beyond the chip.

I owned an Alfa when I lived in the London, and in the 70's and early 80's in the UK Alfas were legendary for more or less dissolving if you left them outside in the rain but my '89 164 was almost entirely rust free when I sold it in late 2001, with the only rust being an area where a wheel arch had been scrapped and repaired.

Jaguar XFR or XJR if you want something a little bigger. The XJR is all aluminium so no rust... Dirt cheap (used), looks amazing, super reliable and goes will beat the pants of a flabby American muscle car....
