I have been on and off this site for a long time. I need a smack!!!
I was born in UK, lived and married in canada, had 2 kids, moved back to the UK....Had another child. My hubby built a pretty good career in the UK. Then i decided that my kids needed to be around our family (in canada) they missed their grandparents so much. So we moved back to canada! Well it has been a year and I am devistated. The family thing did not work out. On a good note my hubby is working - good wage. But he misses his old job in the UK. And stupid me - i miss the uk as well. My kids miss it too. But what do we do??? I must be insane for even thing to make another international move.
There has been a few people on this site for around 10 years now... and a few have made that move... Daisymoll.... can any one offer me some feedback?

You must be loaded, moving back and forwards costs a small fortune.

If you need a smack, I need a whack on the head with a big stick. Been out, back, out, and back, and still thinking of going "out" again!
First, yes it can be expensive moving so much (especially for a family)
Second, if you are absolutely sure you should have stayed in the UK, then the cost of moving back is probably worth it.
But third, be absolutely, positively, definitely sure before you do it, including a hard look at what your financial state will be living in the UK. Moving back may cost a bit, but BEING back may be a lot more costly. That's been my biggest source of heartache this time - going from being in a great financial situation (including being almost mortgage-free) to having a huge mortgage around my neck that I'll never pay off and never having any money left at the end of the month. Probably never having a decent holiday again is putting a serious crimp in my happiness.
