Leslie, I've never thought of it like that. I got my tattoos because I wanted them for me as they have a particular meaning, and most of the time people can't see them. It's nice that the guy was saying how much he liked it, I still am having a hard time with the willingness of people here to talk to complete strangers, so maybe I'll just need to bloody well get used to it

As for getting used to strangers talking to you, well that's part of the "new world" - I always thought that was a nice thing (unless they were 'creepy' of course) and enjoy a brief conversation with a total stranger most of the time. No involvement, no obligation, no struggling to find something to say when it's all been said. And end it with the oft-scorned "Have a nice day!". BTW, I'm a fat old 72 and HATE being treated as though I wasn't there - just a feeble old lady who's in the way. My body betrays me, but I'm young in spirit!
