To get my pets ready to return to UK. How do I find a Federal vet?
Thanks

Call your regular vet and ask them. Mine had two vets in the practice, one who had done the paperwork before, so I went with her. She was comfortable with the DEFRA rules: it doesn't seem to be a difficult or expensive process, but one in which you have to follow each step methodically and correctly, and therefore I wanted someone who had done it before. Not all vets have the Federal accreditation, but lots of them do.

Ask your vet if he/she is USDA certified. That way he/she can do the blood draw and fill in the first sections of the EC998 form.
Then you will need to have your regional USDA office endorse their section of the EC998. You can find your regional office here:
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/area_offices/
If you are starting this process now, you may as well wait until January. After Jan, the rules are changing. I'm not sure if you will even have to visit a regional USDA office. The "Pets" subforum on the UK-Yankee forum have pretty good detailed description of the current process and the post Jan. 1st process if you want to have a look on there.
