Transfer money to the US?
#1
It's done! We have completed on our flat in London. Now we are trying to find something else here.
I've been in contact with www.ukforex.co.uk. Banner at the top of the forum. They seem trustworth enough but but it feels a bit strange to transfer the money over to a company that is not a bank.
Anyone used them and can recommend?
Any advise greatly appreciated.
I'm off house hunting.

Do a search

Of course I think you're mad to move from London to LA, but what the heck...

Most people here keep as much of their wedge back in the UK where it earns a half decent return. Until it is absolutely needed.

Yeah but if you're bringing it over now is the perfect time to do it! To be honest its probably worth bringing it over now, waiting for the rate to drop again then send it back - probably a better return than a savings account.

This is an area where angels fear to tread...
FWIW, I - admittedly a layperson - do not think the dollar is likely to recover any time soon.

Fingers crossed and our offer on a house gets accepted tomorrow!
I might just get over that I had to sell my flat after renovating for 10 months and living in it for 2 weeks!
