Today is not a good day

There is only so much talk about food a man who is pieless can take.

Cheese and pickle sandwiches, a slice (chunk) of my mother's bread pudding and a thermos of tea drunk out of plastic mugs that may have been slightly melted at some point when brewing up with a driftwood fire on the beach.
The bread pudding was similar to this one and was also a sought after food stuff for scout night hikes and similar activities

Just looked at the Parkers website - I may have to purchase some bacon, since the US stuff has far too much fat, and I need to get my cholesterol down!

Sod your pies, my go to bottled beer has been bastardised and there's no going back from there. Newcastle Brown Ale is now brewed in the US by Lagunitas and has acquired that all too familiar hoppy twang that the natives love.

What is it with the US and hops? Even local craft beers are hopped to high heaven.

The replacement box arrived this morning having left Buffalo on the 1st. 7 days in transit but this time Parkers fortunately put extra ice packs, double the amount, in the box and that kept it just about cold enough.

American IPA is now my favorite beer style, but you can have too much of a good thing. I tried Ruination, but that's OTT, and even Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Extra IPA is a bit much for me, but I do like Lagunita's IPA, Goose Island IPA, and Sierra Nevada's recent addition Brut IPA, among others. Hop Drop and Roll is also extraordinarily good, but after winning a national medal several years ago, it is also stoopid expensive, great though it is, and also local to Pulaski Manor too.

I went from Sierra Nevada Pale Ale up to Torpedo, and stuck it out for a little while, but it was a bridge too far. Hops too far. Too flowery. Even thinking about it now makes me nauseous.
Lagunitas and Titan are just nice.
