Flew them once on a domestic flight only because there was no choice. Dreadful. After that if i had to do a 2 city visit I used to plan it so I could do one on the way out, one on the way back (ie Sing-Bombay-London-New Delhi-Sing). Racked up the cost somewhat, but it was worth it!!!
I do like the sound of Kingfisher airlines though. Takes some balls to name an airline after a beer......can you imagine Watneys Red Barrel Airlines - no doubt go down a storm on the Benidorm run

Is there a "not cheap" flight option on Air India?

We've had quite a few ATR Captain's from our company go to work for Jet Airways and Kingfisher in India and they found they have strange aviation law which more or less prohibits the co-pilot from having much hands-on experience. For example only the PIC can takeoff and land. Pretty dumb really but that's the way it is over there.
