It's good we have some more HiDef channels now and I really enjoy the ovation arts channel. There was a very good documentary on Peter Greene with lots of the original music from Fleetwood Mac, great stuff
also like the new Smithsonian channel as well.

and the best part is....we've never had any trouble with Direct TV, Time Warner were idiots and we got totally fed up with having to phone them every goddamn week....

when we finally cancelled TW it took them 6 months to take the $500 off our bill (the cost for the receiver) even though I had handed it in by hand at the local office and had a receipt for it....wan**rs

I just checked it out I only have 16 HD channels and they are still shite apart from about 4 of them, and the networks in HD

We are getting screwed here with TimeWarner, but DirectTv doesn't work with TiVo (and I'm a TiVo addict).
I'm getting ready to march on Washington.
Verizon's FIOS would work, but they haven't deigned to roll out service here yet.

TiVo doesn't work with Switched Digital Video, either, which the cable companies are using more and more. We were the guinea pig city for rolling out SDV .... which means that the TiVo HD cannot receive most of the HD programming. I've been seething for months because this should not be allowed under FCC rulings but so far no joy.

we got lucky with Time Warner. Our box went up the wall so we took it up to the local office. They then gave us a new box that has the internal DVR function enabled and it records HD
So now we effectively have 2 DVR's, Standard Tivo for normal Telly and set top box for all the Hi-Def stuff

Shows a lot of blemishes!
