Thanks a bunch...

Hi Gang,
I got my 10 year GC in the mail last week and I just wanted to drop a line and thank everyone for their helpful guidance especially through the initial stages of the I-485 a few years ago. The removal of conditions was more straight forward but I still checked back in to make sure I was on the right lines....
Most importantly, thanks to you guys, I got through it all without having to spend $$$$ on an immi attorney
For anyone starting down the road to permanent residence, I would advise you keep close tabs on this forum, it'll be a huge help!
Have a great 2011!

Tangential observation - the phrase "thanks a bunch", in some areas of the USA anyway, can have a negative connotation. Same as 'thanks for nothing', or 'that was totally useless', or 'that was harmful, next time stay away'.
Congratulations, though!

Yes, but since this is a British expats forum it isn't unreasonable to expect that most of the people reading the posts here would be able to discern the OP's meaning ...

As can I. But he may be surprised some time when he uses that expression outside this forum to get a reaction that he didn't anticipate.
Now he will understand.

Gotta be honest - I read the subject as a sarcasm meaning thanks for nothing!
Glad to actually read and see it was the opposite : )
