We have just got the u-verse service in my neighborhood, but it only works up to about 2500-2800ft from the box and I am about 3500ft from the box

Looks like I am stuck with Comcraptic service for the time being

Whereabouts in Houston are you, and how do you find out when its available - did you get notified?

I'd love to have it but they aren't interested here yet, and told me so rather bluntly. Rather silly since there's a high concentration of technogeeks here who aren't in love with either TimeBastards or AT&T.

AT&T have no television offering here, so it's cable or dish.

Thanks - we're in Katy too, in 77494, close by Fry/99, but its not in our area yet.

Nope, no u-verse either....

I'm definitely adding "sucky and expensive broadband and cable television service" to my list of cons about living in Austin. It might dissuade some of the hordes, and it'll get the issue off my chest.
