Default SURVIVOR cook Island

SURVIVOR cook Island starts next week with a new highly controversial selection method of placing contestants into four groups: white, black, Hispanic and Asian..... calling it battle of the races...

This seems to have caused a lot of upset...Many advertisers have pulled out
including Procter & Gamble Co. as a protest

Your opinions????

I love this series being a survival expert myself ..Yes !! I have stayed in hotels with no stars at all ..

I'm a huge survivor fan, never miss it. They did this last year with old/young/male /female. Within 2 weeks they merged into 2 tribes. So I wonder how long will there be 4 tribes?

You have to give Mark Burnett credit he's got people talking = ratings.

If I was a comedian there would be a great sketch based on that... but I'd have to be either Dave Chappelle or Carlos Mencia to get away with it.

Thanks for reminding me about shows not to watch this fall. I predict future Survivor shows will include bestiality, full nudity and cannibalism (not all in a single show of course). Anything for high ratings...

PS: why isn't there a group representing trailer trash folk?

It'll be interesting watching I guess. It does kinda make me feel uncomfortable - forced segregation - they never have any fat people on survivor do they, wonder why. That fat bloke in Lost seems to be doing okay.

Difference is that Survivor is supposedly "reality" and Lost is a drama.

I have never watched 5 minutes of Survivor- but now I may.

My prediction is:

The blacks will all drown in the 1st swimming/water based contest- or Jessee Jackson will file discrimination charges against the show (over 50% of all drownings in the US are blacks, but they are only 12% of the population). Best events will be the 100 yard dash and 400 relay, getting pregnant before age 14, fathering children out of wedlock and child support evasion.

The Mexicans will do extra well in the water events, especially if it has to do with shallow water. They will also excell in events in landscaping and housekeeping and having 'famila numerosa'. They will fail miserably at the Rythem Method contest.

The whites will do very well in supervising the above two groups, at least believing they are in control (all the while the other groups will do whatever they want when the whites are not looking). Best events will Income tax evasion, bickering between political factions and feeling self rightous.

The Asians will start slow, but will win the whole shebang in the end after cozying up to the whites and not only copying their strategy but beating the hell out of it in a short time. Best events will be reverse engineering of manufactured components, TV/VCR manufacturing and eating of raw fish and rice.

*Note: this post is mostly tongue in cheek...I have tried to offend people of all races and creeds.*
