Superbowl?

Superbowl?
I've never watched before, usually had other places to go or things to do on "that" Sunday. But today I'm a bit stuck here at home overseeing a relative's recovery from broken bones, so I may--just may--tune in to see what all the excitement is about....
Do (or can) you watch the whole thing from beginning to end, watch for a while but not the entire thing, peek in once in a while... or avoid the whole traffic jam like the Plague many consider it?

I'll be catching up on some work, but peering over the laptop to watch the odd commercial with the family.
FIL is ordering some a BBQ platter and I made a trip to the local mercado to step up my salsa game. (It's mainly about the beer and snacks, for me).

Re: Superbowl?
It's the one game of the year when even the commercials are an event! ....and the halftime show can be worth watching, too.
Having said that, if you have little interest in the game itself, you can drop in and out if you want. Bear in mind that the main water cooler talk tomorrow will be the ads, the screw-up that was made of the Gaga set and, of course the results, which will be either how well the Falcons did to beat the Patriots or how the Pats managed to get away with cheating again!
For P: It kicks off at 6:30 tonight.

Best things about Super Bowl Sunday:
1. The Puppy Bowl (on Animal Planet, for the uninitiated).
2. Extra-hot Buffalo wings with celery and blue cheese dressing.
3. The ads (especially if Subaru are running the ones featuring the golden retriever family with the adorable puppy strapped into the child seat!)
Distant 4. The game is occasionally (OK, very occasionally) good.
Note: this order would have been considerably different had the Steelers made it to the game . . .

Re: Superbowl?
My beloved Falcons are playing! I've made some BBQ, corn bread, banana bread and bought a ton of treats.
My FIL despises the Falcons - mainly because they are rivals to the local team. My MIL visited yesterday bringing a beer from him for me to drown my sorrows when, according to him, they lose.
Now to think of a way of rubbing it in when they do win. Maybe a Superbowl champs baseball cap.

Re: Superbowl?
I never thought the US advertising industry is as creative as they seem to be given credit for for the Superbowl adverts. Some are mildly interesting or humorous, but that is about it.

Living in Georgia but being a Steelers fan means I'm a Falcons fan for the day!
Let's hope they show up for the game unlike the last time they made it to the big dance (1998)!

Re: Superbowl?
After getting stuck in horrendous traffic in Houston this weekend that is the only part of Super Bowl that will effect me.
Never watched and won't start now.
