Re: Subscription Boxes
I subscribe to 'birch box'. It's ten bucks a month. I get a small selection of beauty related items each month which have varied from a full sized posh ladies razor, to hair grips, nail polish, make up, etc. this months box had a benefit lip gloss, an interesting nail polish, some special do it all moisturizer, and some other things I can't remember. It gives me a chance to try something new, see what's a hot color, etc.

We got some free stuff from "Celebrity Foods" that worked on this principle. Since they guy trying to sell the service to us refused to tell us the prices, it was clearly going to cost more than grocery shopping. Plus, it was mostly frozen stuff and I don't have room for a big freezer.
I've seen similar things with gadgets and toys, but they nearly always end up sending you stuff you never would have bought at any price, so it ends up costing you more anyway.
